I found that I got a dishcloth the size I wanted if I cast on 38 stitches instead of 48. The knitter can use which one he or she prefers.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Caveats</span>: I created this printout by doing a "translation" that consisted of find-and-replace of the french word for "knit" and "purl."
